The Mandalorian: this actor of the series defends Gina Carano again and believes that her dismissal was not fair

After her controversial posts on social networks, Gina Carano was fired from the series The Mandalorian by Disney. She was also to wear a spin-off of the Star Wars series entitled Rangers of the New Republic which did not succeed. During season 2 of the series, she shared the screen with Bill Burr who played the mercenary Migs Mayfeld and the latter returned to this affair not hesitating, once again, to defend his playing partner.

“The liberals have proven his point of view”

Indeed, remember, last year, Gina Carano who played Cara Dune in the Star Wars series The Mandalorianwas fired by Disney after having posted several controversial posts on social media. The actress had claimed that currently the fact ofto be a Republican was to be a Jew in Nazi Germany. Lucasfilm was quick to respond, saying its messages were “hateful and unacceptable“. After two seasons in the series, the actress was therefore fired.

Today, Bill Burr, her acting partner in the series, reconsidered the firing of the actress. He again came to his defense by declaring to The Hollywood Reporterthat the dismissal of the actress was not fair. By getting Carano fired, “the liberals have proven his point“:

They use outrage because they don’t like your politics. As someone who considers themselves a liberal, it’s disappointing to see the left become what the right was when it went after the Dixie Chicks after criticizing George W. Bush.”

In 2003, the singer of this group attacked the American president a few days before the invasion of Iraq. She said “be ashamed of your president“and it caused a scandal. Conservatives deemed them unpatriotic and were subjected to hate messages, acts of vandalism and death threats.

The actor continues:

There aren’t many people like that, most are just trying not to get bored, but there is this little collection of lunatics, either on the right or the left, at all times who cause hysteria. And today, there are so many media that want the public, that make money from advertising, that they pay attention to these marginalized people.

Bill Burr judges that the Gina Carano case and the reactions could have endangered the series The Mandalorian :

The whole thing with Gina: you can’t intervene when the situation is critical, because you disrupt the other people on the show. That someone’s opinion makes people try to destroy their ability to earn a living is fucking weird to me.

This isn’t the first time Burr has defended Carano since he was fired. In March 2021, in his podcast The Bill Bert Podcast, he had vigorously defended it and repeated that the actress was a person “absolutely adorable and super nice“.
