In the span of three movies (and books before that), The Lord of the Rings has established itself as one of the most beloved works of pop culture. Peter Jackson’s trilogy has done a great job of bringing characters created by JRR Tolkien, such as the famous Hobbits, to life. They also met for the first time in more than a decade a few days ago.
The reunion of four Hobbits
If Tolkien’s literary work has millions of followers and is characterized by incredibly rich writing and lore, it is above all in the cinema that The Lord of the Rings became known to the general public. The Prime Video series is certainly eagerly awaited, but it will be difficult for it to achieve the sympathy capital and the critical success enjoyed by the three (very) feature films, released between 2001 and 2003.
We will not insult you by reminding you of the basic pitch of the scenario, and we will only mention that the characters are all more striking than each other. Among the most cult, the four hobbits who were members of the Fellowship of the Ring. Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), Samwise “Sam” Gamegie (Sean Astin), Peregrin “Pippin” Touque (Billy Boyde) and Meriadoc “Merry” Brandybuck (Dominic Monaghan) are very fusional characters, and their interpreters are also staying in touch. But it’s for the first time in more than 10 years that everyone finally found themselves side by side.
Actors in permanent contact
From April 21 to 24, the Calgary Expo 2022 was held in Canada. On this occasion, the interpreters of Frodo, Pippin, Merry and Sam found themselves reunited all four, a first for more than a decade, although they had already found themselves at two or three in the meantime. The fans will also be able to take advantage of it, since the four actors will soon give six other “shows” in North America, during which they will be on stage and will interact with the fans.
On the occasion of their visit to the Calgary Expo 2022, the four actors granted a quarter-hour interview to IGN Africa, the opportunity for them to recall sacred memories: we talk about surfing or breakfasts outside filming, and even sending nudes to stay in touch. Because yes, if they had not had the opportunity to meet together for a long time, they again insisted on the fact thatthey keep in touch regularly and let them hear from each other.
Proof that since the early 2000s when they shared “whisky on washing machines” from their hotel and clashed during “snow fights all over downtown” between two shoots, Elijah Wood and his three friends have remained on very good terms.
