The Boys season 3: 10 very important details that you had to see in the trailer

The first trailer for season 3 of The Boys is available for viewing on YouTube, and the latter revealed to us what was like Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. We propose today to come back to the important elements, not only on this subject, but also on all the characters of the series, that you absolutely had to see in this first trailer.

A trailer that presents us in more detail the soldier boy

The trailer of season 3 of The Boysreleased by Amazon, is out now and features Soldier Boy in all his patriotic glory. There is no dialogue, but the outline of this super veteran’s story can be pieced together from images. Here are 4 details about him that should not be missed:

1) the past of the soldier boy

First, the trailer shows “grainy” video footage of Soldier Boy making some sort of public speech. According to Stan Edgar in season 2 of The Boyswe know that the Soldier Boy (played here by Jensen Ackles) fought for the Second World Warbut this image quality seems closer to the 1960s. It makes sense that after debuting against the Nazis, the Soldier Boy has been recruited to operate in Vietnam, and other conflicts over the decades.

2) the soldier boy in action

Afterwards, the trailer for season 3 of The Boys features two action shots of the character, one getting punched by an army officer in a tent, the other fighting thugs with his shield. The Soldier Boy’s modernized costume seems to rule out the World War II context, but the antiquated aesthetic of these scenes hints that they could be flashbacks to past missions, and Soldier Boy’s Old Glories.

Unfortunately, the nature of Vought means that we cannot exclude that these moments of life take place in reality either… On a film set. Assuming these plans come from authentic flashbacksthe Soldier Boy gives off the impression of an arrogant showman (that is, of someone who is more interested in his reputation than in his missions) and the Supe clearly must have pissed off the real soldiers he was fighting alongside.

3) an obituary

A second press clipping visible in the trailer for season 3 of The Boys present a Soldier Boy obituaryconfirming the hint in season 2 that the hero died in the 1980s.

4) soldier boy awakening

The final moments of the trailer show soldier boy awakeningwhich is now most likely in the modern timeline of The Boys. Rumors of his death must therefore have been greatly exaggerated (unless the Super’s body was cryopreserved). Still, we still don’t know if Vought simulated the death of soldier boy and kept him in a cage, or if the Soldier Boy really died and Vought managed to revive him.

On our side, we are really looking forward to finding out how the storyline of season 3 has integrated the character. But let’s not forget that the trailer doesn’t just reveal things about the Soldier Boyand we will try to highlight them in the rest of this article.

5) butcher will take compound v

Billy Butcher could finally fight on equal terms against the supers in Season 3 by enhancing himself with Compound V, the drug that gives Supes their powers. In the comics, Butcher and the rest of his team regularly used Compound V to keep up with the Supes they were fighting. We can’t wait to see Karl Urban decimate his enemies with laser eyes and superhuman strength, personally.

6) black black back for the action

The mysterious and stealthy Black Noira member of the Seven, found himself at the mercy of Maeve after she caught him choking Starlight in Season 2. She then force-fed him a bar. Almond Joy, a deadly move, given that the character is allergic to nuts. We had left him when he was in anaphylactic shock, but it is clear that Black Noir survived.

7) a supernatural easter egg

There’s a brief moment in the trailer where Butcher and Hughie are shown looking down as they open something. This is an easter egg referring to supernaturalseries in which Jensen Ackles, who embodies the Soldier Boy in the next season, also played. A similar shot of Sam and Dean Winchester opening a chest indeed first appeared in the pilot episode of supernatural, and will spawn multiple times throughout the series.

8) the red countess

Here we have a brief overview of the Red Countess embodied by Laurie Holden. The parody of Scarlet Witch should be talked about a lot in the new season that is coming.

9) frenchie and kimiko dance

“What is the purpose of life without dancing?”, Frenchie asks Kimiko in the middle of the Season 2 finale. In the Season 3 trailer, these two characters are seen dancing together, in what appears to be a musical. It’s possible that it comes from a dream, or is the result of ingesting a drug. Everything is possible with Eric Kripke

10) a parody of the pepsi ad

What would a trailer of The Boys without a well-placed critique of a specific aspect of our society? The trailer indeed contains a parody of the extremely controversial Pepsi commercial starring Kendall Jenner, which instantly caused an avalanche of reactions when it appeared on our screens, in 2017.

In this advertisement, Kendall offers a Pepsi to a police officer during a demonstration, and this gesture solves absolutely all the existing problems. A bad advertising campaign when several revolt movements were in full swing in the United Statesand around the world.
