While the cult manga One Piece celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, several French cities have decided to pay tribute to the famous manga and its author, Eiichiro Oda. We tell you everything!

A tribute to the height of this monument

Without a doubt, the year 2022 is an important year for all fans of One Piece. Already, the manga, which is gradually coming to its conclusion, has just reached a real turning point, which completely changes the game. Then the movie One Piece: Red, centered on the very popular character Shanks Le Roux, recently unveiled its trailer, lifting the veil, in passing, on the hidden daughter of the Emperor. Finally, because as stated in the introduction, Eiichiro Oda’s manga celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

Twenty five years of existence during which One Piece has never ceased to break all records, and to become a truly international and intergenerational phenomenon. To celebrate the event, several French cities have decided to pay tribute to him in the most beautiful way possible. Indeed, the publisher Glénat has just announced thatthe largest fresco ever made for the series” will decorate the corridors of the metro and the tramways of three cities in France: Paris, Lille and Toulouse.

With a length of 135 meters, this fresco “represents the 50 favorite heroes of fans around the world. Thus, we can as well see the crew of Luffy in the Straw Hat, as the Emperors Big Mom and Kaido, Yamato, Oden Kozuki, Trafalgar D. Law or Katakuri.

Since May 4, 2022 (day of the release of volume 101 of One Piece), until the 10th of the same month, the fresco is visible on the wall of the corridor leading to Gare Montparnasse between lines 12 and 13. It will then join the Toulouse tramway between May 7 and 20, and the Lille tramway between May 8 and 21.
