Luckily for you, the streaming platform has launched a whole new category that should be unanimous.
Films that are too long on streaming platforms
It’s a running gag that only has a “gag” in name among streaming enthusiasts: when looking for a program to watch on this kind of platform, we spend almost as much time choosing what to watch as actually watching something. Blame it on very rich catalogs filled with nuggets that we dream of seeing one day, but that we keep pushing back to the next day.
Among those, films that are often particularly long, sometimes lasting 2h, 2h30, or even more if you like. In short, (too) feature films that we do not necessarily always have the patience to watch. Fortunately, Netflix has got you covered with the launch of a whole new joke category called “Short Ass Movies”.
Netflix’s silver bullet
A few days ago, the American actor and humorist Pete Davidson made a notable appearance in the Saturday Night Live (SNL), a weekly program offering numerous sketches. Among those of last Saturday, that of Davidson: a parody music video titled “Short-Ass Movies”. Difficult to translate into French as it is, this expression generally refers to short films in a vulgar way.

In this one, the 28-year-old comedian complains about overly long films that he never has time to watch and therefore demands shorter ones. An idea that visibly marked the Netflix teams since the next day, the Twitter account Netflix Is A Joke retweeted the clip, accompanying it with a terse “good idea”.

And indeed, you will see for yourself thatthere is now a category called “Short-Ass Movies” on Netflix, in which only films with a duration of around 1h30 are offered, so as not to waste too much of your precious time.
Small important precision to finish, you will note that this category does not appear anywhere on your homepage. No logical reason for that, so we hope that this problem will be quickly resolved.
