The Korean series was a nice surprise when it came out. She managed to federate a real enthusiasm around her, which finally pushed other productions wanting to shine in turn.
A horror series about Slavic mythology
Krakow Monsters is a Polish series which has just landed on Netflix. Since its release on March 18, fiction has risen in sixth place in the platform’s top series. The series consists of 8 episodes, and is largely inspired of Slavic mythology.
The directors of the series, Kasia Adamik and Olga Chajdas, have already worked together on several episodes of the uchronic series 1983, currently available on Netflix. Today, they meet for a brand new project, this time based on horror.
On the casting side, Krakow Monsters features the actress Barbara Liberek that some were able to discover in How i became a gangster, broadcast on Netflix since January. For the occasion, she will play alongside actors such as Daniel Namiotko, Malgorzata Gorol (Suspiria)Magdalena Kolesnik (Sweatshirt), Anna Paliga (In The Woods), Mateusz Górski (Mental), Kaja Chan (Absentia) and Stanislaw Cywka (Nobody sleeps in the Woods tonight), but also two actors who have already lent the reply on 1983namely Julia Wyszyńska and Andrzej Chyra, who will play a mysterious teacher.
A paranormal investigation
In Krakow Monsterswe follow the character of Alex, a medical student, selected by Professor Zawadski to participate in a study. Except this is really just a cover for carry out research on paranormal phenomena. With a group of gifted students, she will fight different kinds of demonic creatures. The young woman is a somewhat special individual. She would have been chosen for this particular reason. Tormented by her past, Alex would possess gifts. Soon, she will find herself embroiled in a vast conspiracy linking her to ancient deities of Slavic mythology.
Without much surprise in what it offers, the series will focus on satisfy fans of the genre. The others will fail to be conquered by the telephonic side of the show and the acting of the actors. Krakow Monsters however, has the merit of highlight Slavic culture. And that is a real pleasure! The series is dark and gloomy as desired, as we hoped when starting the series.
