Like every year, Mickey’s Diarya famous weekly youth magazine, produces the ranking of the favorite personalities of French people aged 7 to 14, the opportunity to discover who are the stars of our youngest cherubs. And for the first time this year, a Youtuber managed to climb to the top of the basket according to the magazine, thus proving the importance of the platform in the daily life of the youngest.
and the winner is…
If the popularity of YouTube around the world is clearly no longer to be provencertain data nevertheless make it possible to assess the place occupied by the medium in the entertainment sector. And this year, according to the annual Ipsos survey conducted for the Mickey’s DiaryYouTube shows that it hasn’t lost its luster, thanks to one YouTuber in particular.
Indeed, Miguel Mattioli, a young videographer better known as Michou, arrives on the second place of the podium for his entry into the top, just behind the artist Soprano, who is for the third consecutive year the favorite personality of 7-14 year olds. Michou made a name for himself at the start with the big wave Fortnitethen recently gained notoriety with the general public following his participation in the show Dance with the stars on TF1. And finally, we find the footballer Kylian Mbappé, thus completing the podium. Check out the full ranking below:

Michou is therefore the first YouTuber in the ranking, paving the way for McFly and Carlito, who also entered this list and settled in 14th place. It is also the first time in the top for astronaut Thomas Pesquet and for footballer Hugo Lloris, who respectively have fourth and fifth place.
The ranking also gives information on the position of each personality given their previous ranking, and if a good majority have seen their position receded, a few lucky ones seem to have gained notorietylike Stromae who won three places (18th), Mimie Mathy who won four (26th) or Kylian Mbappé who climbed 10 places.
We then notice the significant share of musical artists in this ranking, with almost half of the personalities present belonging to the world of music. Moreover, we also see low representation of womenwith less than 20% of women present, and the first of which is Angèle and who only appears in 16th place. Mickey’s Diary then point out:
No women are present in the boys’ favourites. Girls favor women as much as men in their favorite personalities, but not boys.
Note that this study by the Ipsos Institute was carried out from February 9 to 16, 2022 with 400 children representing 7-14 year olds, from a list of 81 French-speaking personalities who made the news in 2021. Young people first named the personalities they knew in order to measure their notoriety rate. Only people known to at least half of the young people are therefore included in this ranking. Respondents then gave a rating to these personalities ranging from 1 to 10. The top was then made according to the note received, ranked from the highest rated to the lowest rated.
