An Oscar-winning career

It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of beloved father and Oscar-winning actor William Hurt on March 13, 2022, a week before his 72nd birthday.

The message explains that the actor passed away peacefully, with his family and of natural causes. It is not known if his death is related the incurable prostate cancer he had been battling since May 2018.
