Marvel: this terrifying version of the Hulk is considered "deadliest" all time

Throughout its history, Marvel has consistently offered variants of the key characters in his universe. At the top of the heroes who offer the most versions of themselves, we find the inevitable Hulk and his famous alter ego Bruce Banner. In recent times, the character has the right to a whole bunch of really terrifying forms. But the one we are going to talk about today is above everything we have presented to you so far.

Hulk is bloodthirsty

In the next issue of the comic series Hulkauthors Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley prepare to introduce a new adversary for the Hulk, known as Titan. It would be “the deadliest version” of the superhero never appeared in the Marvel Universe.

In Marvel comics, there are many ways to bring together two versions of the same character. The first is to make a “variant” appear in the story, thanks to the concept of multiple universes developed by Marvel. The second, which seems most likely with regard to Hulk and Titan, is that the character is divided into two distinct beings.

In the plot developed by Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley, this is already somewhat the case. Bruce Banner and Hulk have actually been physically separated from each other, but the professor continues to keep a link with the body of the green monster via a technological device. However, this one is destined to give way in future issues of the series, which would leave pride of place for a new entity in the mind of the Hulk. This is how Titan should then manage to take control of his body, in order to make him become a completely unstable and murderous monster.

Titan, a villain of unknown origins

But who exactly is Titan? For the moment, we do not yet have a clear answer to this question. It will probably be necessary to wait until April 20, when the Hulk #6, for the knowledge. However, new revelations made as part of the announcement of the anniversary series Hulk vs. Thor: Banner of War Alpha may well give us some clues as to the origins of Titan.

One of the covers unveiled on this occasion seems to give us a glimpse Hulk with a massive claw protruding from his body. This suggests that Titan was born entirely out of the character’s physical form. Recent comments by Wil Moss, working on the series Hulktend in this direction.

According to him, Titan would be “essentially the Knull of Hulk”. For those who do not know this character from the Marvel universe, it is a deity among the Symbiote species. Following Wil Moss’ remarks, Donny Cates wanted to clarify the situation. He explains on Twitter: “Titan is not the Hulk’s Knull. This is an entirely different thing.”

Of course, the statements of Wil Moss were not to be taken literally. Rather, it should be understood that Titan should have a role similar to Knull in the Hulk story. We just have to wait for the release of the new issue to learn more about it.
