1 / Original and practical tablets for your kitchen
Hanging from the ceiling, these shelves free up the worktop in style! Inspired by photography. Drill them at the 4 corners, 3 cm from the edge. Have 5 boards cut in store. Screw 3 plates with ring to the ceiling, where you want to place your shelves.
Then cut 3 x 3.30 m of rope. Pass each one through a ring and tie a tight knot, while making sure to have 2 identical lengths. Finally, pass the ropes through the holes in the shelves, and align them with a spirit level and secure them with a knot underneath.
Kitchen tip: Before assembly, cut 10 cm holes with a jigsaw in the boards. You can slip in small pots of green plants.
2 / Kitchen: space saving!
Maximize your kitchen cupboard space by storing lids on the inside of a door.
Disassemble it, arrange your lids and cut straps to their dimensions + 2 cm. Then fold each end over 1 cm. And finally, secure them with a small screw. Reassemble the door.
3 / A glazed shelf to delimit
Indeed, a glazed floor makes it possible to separate the kitchen from the living room without partitioning. For your living room, attach a 120 cm wide walk-in shower screen. And for your kitchen, create a shelf with two vertical uprights, fixed to the floor and to the ceiling using brackets.
Then, install shelves 18 cm deep, enough to accommodate jars. Slide crates at the bottom of the shelf to store fruit, bottles, vegetables… A warm, old-fashioned grocery store feel!
4 / A storage wall
No wasted space in your kitchen! To create storage that is as graphic as it is practical, stack raw wooden bottle racks. The latter will accommodate bottles, but also the rolling pin, placemats, tea towels…
5 / Bulk identified in a flash
Kitchen tip: label your glass containers with almost no equipment! First, type the word on a computer, then print it out. Then cover your word with a piece of shiny clear tape and cut it out. Then immerse it in water for about 20 seconds and rub the paper with the pulp of your finger to remove it. Result ? The word remains printed on the adhesive, which you simply stick on your jar.
6 / A wall-mounted mini-vegetable garden
Having fresh aromatic herbs on hand to enhance your preparations… it’s great! However, not everyone has an XXL kitchen! Do not panic. If yours is modest in size, install your pots on the wall.
Place a glass jar on a 15 x 15 cm painted wooden square, placed point down. Next, cut a strip to the size of the jar from a leather or imitation leather strap, adding 2 to 3 cm on each side.
Using a wall stapler, fix it on either side of it, while tightening the jar sufficiently. Then hide the staples with 2 golden upholstery nails. Adjust the straps so the jars don’t slip. But can be taken out, replenished and washed.
