If you are a fan of Jujutsu Kaisenthere may be some techniques like Satoru Gojo’s that you had trouble grasping at first sight. We propose today to dwell in more detail on the latest technique unveiled, which still leaves us a little perplexed.
WARNING: this article contains spoilers concerning the chapter 183 of Jujutsu Kaisen !
Kinji Hakari in the viewfinder
dark energy is the power base in Jujutsu Kaisen, and it is a very flexible system. Dark Energy users can use it to perform unique techniques, the only limit being that if a technique is too complex, the user must explain it to his opponent to use it at full power. This clever feature allows the mangaka, Gege Akutami, to fill its story with incredibly complicated abilities (while having a reason to explain to the reader how those abilities work). These explanations are generally helpful, but the last extension of territory dated is so complex that the explanation behind it has puzzled many readers.
At the beginning of chapter 183the character of Kinji Hakarisupposed to be one of the most powerful exorcists there is, uses his territory extension against a man named Charles Bernard. Hakari must therefore explain his technique, but this did not serve to understand all the functioning of his technique. Hakari’s technique is indeed based, as far as we know, on mechanics of a pachinko (a device similar to a cross between a pinball machine and a slot machine), with its attacks varying in power based on luck.
Hakari is also able to use “luck boosters” and alternative game modes to increase his chances of hitting the jackpot, which will give him an undisclosed bonus. He can also choose how his technique manifests by choosing different “visual effects indicators”like a pair of closing doors, a reserve ball and an aftereffect multiplier. On top of all that, his powers can be enhanced by randomly generated things.
The technique of Hakari in Jujutsu Kaisen
The technique of Kinji Hakari is easily the manga’s most convoluted to date (even though those of Gojo are already quite complex to understand in their entirety). It is as complex, in its own way, as some of the abilities present in Hunter x Hunter Where JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, two manga known for highlighting certain overly complicated abilities. Furthermore, for the moment, we have no idea what hits the jackpot. This technique is therefore likely to become even more complicated in future chapters.
