It’s a saga that rocked the childhood of millions of people, The Ice Age today continues to expand its universe under the leadership of Disney, but the work remains above all the baby of Blue Sky studios. Officially closed just a year ago, they have prepared a last surprise for us, now accessible on YouTube.
Franchise The Ice Age
There are cinematographic sagas that have accompanied people for a whole part of their lives and especially their childhood. When we say that, we obviously think of works such asHarry Potter, Star Wars, or Disney and Pixar movies. But if she has never achieved such great success, the movie franchise The Ice Age also has its share of fervent defenders.
If all the films in the saga have not convinced, the first ones are generally very good and have allowed Blue Sky studios to acquire a sacred reputation. However, this did not prevent them from put the key under the door following a decision by Disney in 2021. Several projects therefore had to be abandoned, although we recently learned that one of them was saved by Netflix.
But before definitively closing its doors, Blue Sky has prepared one last bittersweet surprise for us, now available online.
End of course for Scrat and for Blue Sky
A few days before the final closure of Blue Sky, a few members of the studio got together to make a final video, a final shot, as a farewell. This is what is explained to us in the description ofa video published on April 13, 2022 on YouTube unlisted, i.e. you have to own the link to be able to watch it.
Soberly titled The End (The end) and lasting only about thirty seconds, she will undoubtedly be able to make fans of the franchise smile, despite her ultimately rather sad character, since marking the end of an era. Indeed, we see Scrat, the famous squirrel mascot of The Ice Agea new time looking for his glans. As usual, he approaches it, seizes it, prepares to push it into the ground and, one imagines, to create a new catastrophe.
Except that this time, he gives up and decides to go straight to the point by devouring the coveted glans. The little squirrel has therefore finally reached his goal and then leaves the field on a fade to black. The end of an era for Blue Sky studios and for fans of The Ice Age.
For its part, Disney continues to exploit the franchise via its SVOD platform.
