Last February came out Elden Ring on PC and consoles. A title signed Hidetaka Miyazaki and FromSoftware which was unanimous, or almost. A now cult work that could well be crowned game of the year. It remains to be seen whether God of War: Ragnarok will succeed in dethroning him. But until then, that’s just a perfect mod of Elden Ring fulfills the dream of many fans of Berserk.
a wonderful tribute
In May 2021, Kentaro Miura, famous mangaka behind works like Berserk and Gigantomachiadied. His main work, Berserk, started in 1989, is still unfinished. A cult manga that has inspired many artists around the world, including Hidetaka Miyazaki, who was inspired by the work of Miura on many occasions, as evidenced by the multitude of references present in Elden Ring. To go even further, some players have even decided to give their character the appearance of Guts, before wielding the sword of the protagonist of Berserkavailable in Elden Ring.
But because Elden Ring was released on PC, it is possible to install mods on it. A boon for interested developers who can give free rein to their imagination. Lo and behold, modder COTA Studios and videographer Garden of Eyes recently decided to team up to “bring favorite anime, game and movie characters to Elden Ring, in a multiverse setting“. But rather than just changing the appearance of an NPC or the player character, the duo decided to bring Guts to life by making him a boss. The character of Kentaro Miura is found there with his iconic armor, his gigantic weapon and his skills.
In FromSoftware games, bosses are commonplace. More than a hundred populate the regions ofElden Ringwith fights of more or less increased difficulty. Nothing better to honor a character as powerful as Guts than to import him into Elden Ring as a boss. A fight accessible to all PC players who will still have to pay a subscription on the Patreon of COTA Studios if they wish to see the color. Count 4.5 euros to access all of the modder’s creations. An expense that can be worth the effort depending on your assessment ofElden Ring and of Berserk. Anyway, it’s nice to see that the community of the latest FromSoftware game is so active.
