Doctor Strange 2: the first reviews of the latest Marvel have arrived, and they make you want

With a release scheduled for tomorrow with us, the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has just passed its first test: the first reviews. And it would seem that the last film of marvel studios and the director Sam Raimi succeeded quite well.

The first Marvel horror movie?

While Marvel Studios’ next film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessis about to be released in our theaters in a few hours, fans are more than eager to discover this second opus centered on the adventures of the Master of the Mystical Arts.

Many people wonder if the film Doctor Strange 2 will manage to meet the same success as the previous title of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Spider-Man: No Way Homedirected by Jon Watts and released late last year. The Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios film grossed $1.89 billion, becoming the sixth highest-grossing film of all time.

Benedict Cumberbatch then takes over the title role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The film follows the events of No Way Home, in which Stephen Strange transformed reality by opening up the multiverse. Now the Sorcerer Supreme is forced to team up with allies old and new as he ventures across the multiverse to face a new foe.

Several English speakers were then able to see the film in world premiere, thus delivering their first opinions. And one thing almost everyone seems to agree on is the thrill of seeing Sam Raimi again directing a Marvel project.

The first reactions to #DoctorStrange are in, with viewers calling the sequel everything from “the MCU’s first horror movie” to “a mixed bag.” One thing almost everyone seems to agree on is that it’s nice to see Sam Raimi back in the director’s chair. https://t.co/x95Vs1xOSz

Don’t worry, Sam Raimi fans. DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS fully goes horror—jump scares, body horror, and a smattering of diabolical kills. It fits in the MCU but has Raimi’s deranged creepy campy groovy DNA all over it. Start the Elizabeth Olsen Oscar campaign. pic.twitter.com/jIVheGQfoY

#DoctorStrange: MARVEL MADE A HORROR MOVIE! It’s weird, scary and earns the title “Multiverse of Madness.” If you were at all concerned this movie wouldn’t feel Sam Raimi enough, fear not! I can’t imagine a more Sam Raimi MCU movie. My kind loving heart is bursting right now. pic.twitter.com/9we5vMpXhy

#DoctorStrange: MARVEL HAS MADE A HORROR MOVIE! It’s weird, scary and deserves the title “Multiverse of Madness”. If you were worried that this movie wasn’t Sam Raimi enough, fear not! I can’t imagine a more Sam Raimi movie for the MCU. My genre lover’s heart is exploding.

#DoctorStrange Multiverse of Madness was a comic book fever dream. This is by far the Best Directed MCU movie. Sam Raimi awed me with his incredible style and visual flare. The action set pieces blew me away & Elizabeth Olsen’s #ScarlettWitch was a force to be reckon with. pic.twitter.com/PrbmnwNeeo

#Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness was a comic book dream. It is by far the best-directed film in the MCU. Sam Raimi impressed me with his incredible style and visual style. The action scenes blew my mind and Elizabeth Olsen’s #ScarlettWitch was a force to be reckoned with.

#DoctorStrange #MultiverseOfMadness is a Sam Raimi movie in and out… horrific, brutal, shocking, & even scary at times. The film builds on every minute it gives & never lets up even at the very end. Elizabeth Olsen is even better than she was in WANDAVISION. pic.twitter.com/Z8jDkcrKGO

#DoctorStrange #MultiverseOfMadness is a Sam Raimi film in its own right…horrible, brutal, shocking and even scary at times. The film builds on every minute it gives and never lets up, even at the very end. Elizabeth Olsen is even better than she was in WANDAVISION.

Absolutely in love with what I just saw. Raimi is truly all over it, and the horror elements are something special, but it’s so fast as brutal and FUN. Didn’t feel like anything I’ve watched in the MCU before. Cumberbatch and Olsen are ud83dudc10. #DoctorStrange #MultiverseOfMadness pic.twitter.com/opTR7Zpz54

Absolutely impressed by what I just saw. Raimi is really into it, and the horror elements are something special, but it’s so fast and brutal and fun. I don’t feel like I’ve watched anything like it in the MCU before. Cumberbatch and Olsen are GOATS. #DoctorStrange #MultiverseOfMadness

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the weirdest, grossest Marvel movie yet. It’s wildly disjointed, partially on purpose, so it doesn’t always work but the horror, and especially Wanda, works incredibly well. More wow. What huge surprises. pic.twitter.com/HwZUZ4Nygw

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the most bizarre and disgusting Marvel movie ever made. It’s wildly rambling, partly by design, and it doesn’t always work, but horror, and especially Wanda, works incredibly well. And what huge surprises.

#DoctorStrange #MultiverseOfMadness is the most adrenaline-pumping and action-packed MCU movie yet. It’s Sam Raimi camp horror to the bone and worth every ounce of anticipation. A must-see for all lovers of horror, comics, and Raimi. pic.twitter.com/8vH15dn4aW

The first reactions therefore seem to agree on the fact that the return of Sam Raimi to the Marvel universe is a treat for the fans, but above all that the daring bet of wanting to introduce the horror genre into the MCU also seems to have carried its fruits. However, some criticize that the story may seem somewhat disjointed at times, and that she sometimes has a hard time making the link with the rest of the MCU. Finally, if there is one thing that really seems to have been unanimous for once, it is the interpretation of Elizabeth Olsen in his role as Wandavision.

The best way to find out is still to form your own opinion, you can watch Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness tomorrow in our cinemas.
