Disney+: These Winter Soldier Scenes Have Been Censored

Among the many Marvel series that can be found on Disney+, Falcon and the Soldier of winter is one of the most popular. So it was obvious that some viewers would quickly notice the few changes that were made to the one and only season of the miniseries. Fortunately, these should not last over time.

Disney: too politically correct?

Regularly subject to criticism, the firm with big ears has for a few months (years?) multiplied the controversies. Many Internet users thus regularly share their disappointment with a firm that scrupulously seeks to respect political correctness, by making his works more progressive, even if it meant truncating them (the remake of Snow White will have no dwarfs), or even by censoring excessively violent passages of some of his productions.

Overall, Disney productions and its SVOD service aim to be accessible to everyone, to be “family friendly”. It is for this reason that some feared that the Marvel series transferred from Netflix to Disney + would be censored, which was not ultimately the case. On the other hand, it is surprisingly a series released a year ago that seems to have been partly sanitized: Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Two scenes censored…by mistake?

On Reddit, users expressed their dismay when they saw thatat least two scenes from the mini-series had been changed in episode 3. First, the scene or character of Becky swings an iron bar at a woman, which stabs her in the shoulder. Now no more pierced shoulders (the bar rebounds). A shocking detail when you know the scene, since the woman now seems to remain nailed to a container for no apparent reason. Rebelote with the scene of (spoiler) the death of scientist Wilfred Nagel, on which no more bloodstains are visible.

But if these changes could potentially be followed by others, media sources TV Line want to be reassuring. They would have learned from Disney that it would actually be a problem coming from the control software on the Disney side. It would therefore be a publication error, since it is a bad version of episode 3 of Falcon and the Winter Soldier which would have been put online, replacing the original episode. According to the information provided, this should be fixed quickly. Not sure that this marks the end of the accusations of censorship against Disney.
