It’s no longer a surprise: Michael Keaton will reprise the role of Batman in two DC Universe films, namely in Batgirl and in The Flash. While the Andy Muschietti-directed film has fallen behind schedule, so we’ll see the actor in the costume of the Dark Knight in Batgirla role he has not played since Batman Returns by Tim Burton in 1992.
A new suit deeply rooted in the Burton universe
Expected in December 2022, Batgirl will be a continuation of the DCEU and will also mark the return of JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. At present, we still do not know how Keaton’s Batman will be integrated into the film because originally, The Flash had to go out before Batgirl.
Today, these are two new photos that have just appeared on social networks revealing to us what should be the new batman costume. As you can see from the photos below, the costume bears a strong resemblance to the one Keaton wore in Batman Returns and has some new which are reminiscent of the costume of Christian Bale in The Dark Knight.

New to the costume include the black belt that was not present in the version of the Tim Burton films. However, this costume is well and truly anchored in the universe of Burton. Note that with some novelties added to the costume, we can notice that the Bruce Wayne embodied by Keaton had to continue to evolve and develop his equipment.
As a reminder, Batgirl is expected next December on HBO Maxthe film The Flash meanwhile will be released on June 23, 2023 and the public will be able to discover two incarnations of the Dark Knight. Michael Keaton’s version will share the screen with Ben Affleck’s.
