"Bad", "shabby"Alexandre Astier strongly criticizes National Education

For more than two decades now, Alexandre Astier has been a passion. Kaamelott, Asterix: Domain of the Gods, The Exoconference, works that have allowed this talented artist to shine in many areas. And while Astier recently revealed the shooting date and the duration of Kaamelott: Second Part (part 1), the actor and director also lingered during an interview on the school education of his children, taking advantage of this moment to strongly criticize the National Education.

a family story

Accustomed to television sets, Alexandre Astier was found on that of the show As an aside on behalf of Canal+, on March 25. The opportunity for the actor and director to return to the first part of Kaamelottits success, filming anecdotes and above all, the sequel, which fans of this universe born in the early 2000s are impatiently awaiting. Questioned on many subjects on the set of the Canal + program, Astier also lingered on a personal subject: his children.

Father of 7 children (Jeanne, Ariane, Neil, Ethan, James and Aaron, and Isaac, his youngest child from his relationship with Luna Karys), Astier seeks to spend as much time as possible alongside his small tribe. To manage to see them as much as possible, even during the filming period, his children are invited to accompany him on the film sets. After rather minimal roles in the series Kaamelottseveral of his children were able to enjoy larger roles in Kaamelott: First Part. Ariane and Jeanne Astier again shared their features with those of Mehben and Mehgan, the daughters of Karadoc and Mevanwi, when Neil Astier, already the interpreter of a child Arthur in books IV and V, was present here in sequences flashback where his character, a teenager, joined the Roman legion.

when the critics fuse

A stratagem which thus allows Alexandre Astier to spend time next to his children, while sharing with them his passion for directing and acting. And on the set of the show As an aside, the actor was asked about their upbringing. Having experienced boredom at school in his time, Astier wishes to offer an exciting education to his children, even if it means dodging the traditional system set up by National Education:

“As soon as they have their backs full, I take them away. I pay for them lessons at home or they do a somewhat parallel school as they wish. I’m legit, be careful. I had inspections from the academy, which never found anything to complain about elsewhere. Everything is fine.

As soon as I feel that there is something, where learning it becomes something, where they don’t get it anymore why they do things. The first day of CP [de Jeanne]in the morning I take him and I say to him: ‘You’re going to learn to read anyway, it’s cool! You will be able to read stuff. In the evening, she returns. She says, ‘Daddy, I have to do my homework, otherwise I’m going to get scolded’. It sucks! It’s a shame. It’s pathetic. Min-able”, chanted Alexandre Astier.

Reviews that are not new. On several occasions already, Astier had underlined the “absurdity” of the current system. In his idea, Alexandre Astier does not target teachers, but an educational system considered too rigid and too focused on the evaluation of knowledge deemed necessary.
