Many are the anime fans to look forward to this year 2022, with many releases planned, both in the series that animated movies. And precisely, one of the most anticipated films of this year has just unveiled its first trailer, giving fans a glimpse of the next work of Makoto Shinkai.

A few months ago, we showed you the first images of the new animated film Suzume no Tojimari, shared by famous director Makoto Shinkai. And lately, a trailer for the movie was released on the Toho Movie YouTube channel.also confirming a release date for the film.
As a reminder, the film Suzume no Tojimari is an original work by Makoto Shinkai, notably known for his previous works such as Your Name (2016) or more recently The Children of Time (2019). We will also find Masayoshi Tanaka in chara-design, as well as Kenichi Tsuchiya in the direction of animation and Takumi Tanji in the artistic direction. The film appears to be another fantasy story, similar to Shinkai’s later works, and we still find the studio CoMix Wave Films which will ensure the animation of the project.
We can then see that the film’s premiere is scheduled for November 11 this year in Japan. And to commemorate the release of the trailer, the official Twitter account hosted a Twitter Space with the director, who then shared comments on the trailer release :
This is a special video for Suzume no Tojimari. Although this is a short snippet, it is also the fruit of the skill, sweat and love of the team and creators, including animation director Tsuchiya and art director Tanji. I hope you can look forward to the movie slated for this fall, imagining the journey ahead.

The official site describes the plot as following :
Very mysterious gates are opening across Japan, bringing with them a number of misfortunes. Suzume, 17, lives in a quiet town in Japan’s Kyushu region. The story begins when she meets a young man who goes to discover all these famous doors. She will then decide to follow him and thus find a strange door in an abandoned building located in the mountains. As if drawn to something, Suzume will reach out, and it will mark the beginning of her fantastic journey through Japan, determined to close those doors that only bring disaster. A modern adventure by Makoto Shinkai, which tells the story of a young girl’s freedom and growth, taking flight in life.
For the moment, no date concerning an international release has yet been communicated.but it is reasonable to assume that Suzume no Tojimari will be available in theaters early next year.
