Last month, we showed you the impressive number of signatures collected for the petition to fire Amber Heard from the film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomthe opportunity to remember that the American actress had already almost left the project because of “her lack of chemistry with Jason Momoa“. And while the American actor is chaining projects, a recent announcement confirms the trend all the more, highlighting a new project as promising as it is intriguing.
a new project full of promise
If there’s one thing you can’t deny, this is Jason Momoa’s impressive rise in the Hollywood industry in recent years. The actor has a string of big projects, having recently been chosen to be the main character of a live-action video game based on Minecraft.
However, it will be more than 20 years since the actor began his careerhaving debuted with the television series Baywatch. But Momoa will start to really come to the public’s attention in the early 2010s, thanks to his role as Khal Drogo in the hit series Game Of Thrones. Since then, the actor has played alongside the greatest, ranging from Keanu Reeves in The Bad Batch (2016) to Bruce Willis with THE Rush (2017), without forgetting of course all the stars who make up the cast of the Justice League, allowing to introduce his iteration of Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
And as recently revealed Deadline, Momoa seems to want to continue exploring new universes, as evidenced by this new project in which the actor will be present. After an intense bidding war, Warner Bros. would have won the rights for this project, tentatively titled The Executioner. The scenario, which has not yet been unveiled, is nevertheless presented as being on the border between Costly and The Lord of the Rings. Two films with very different universes, thus making this project even more mysterious.
If for the moment, no director has been mentioned, the project is known to originate from screenwriters Kaz and Ryan Firpoto whom we owe the film The Eternals (2021). This project also allows Momoa to reconnect with its producer ofAquamanPeter Safran, who will produce the feature film written by the Firpo brothers.
As a reminder, Safran is behind several lucrative Warner Bros. franchises.especially movies Conjuringwhich made $2 billion, but also some of the DCEU projects, like Suicide Squadthe HBO series Peacemakeras well as franchises Shazam and of course Aquaman. And to this day, Aquaman rest highest-grossing DC movie of all timewith $1.1 billion worldwide.
The fact is that this new project remains very intriguing, especially when we know that this feature film is qualified as “fun action movie with murders and mysteries”. We can then wonder how this film will be able to skillfully reconcile Fantasy and an investigative story.a promise that will surely arouse the interest of some.
