a figure approaches…

Last November, on the occasion of a trailer called “The Prologue”, Jurassic World: The World After, the film directed by Colin Trevorrow propelled us 65 million years back, in the middle of the Paleogene. The opportunity for dinosaur lovers to discover a string of extinct creatures, in their natural state. And if Jurassic World: The World After shared these images with us, it was to introduce us to the new antagonist of the saga: the Giganotosaurus.

After’indominus rex and theIndoraptorthe trilogy Jurassic World therefore leans on a new antagonist to conclude its saga. After hybrid creatures born from the genetic association of several dinosaurs, Jurassic World: The World After will eventually turn to the Giganotosaurus, an extinct genus of carcharodontosaurid dinosaurs that lived in South America about 98 million years ago during the early Late Cretaceous and was one of the largest land carnivores of all time.

Bigger and heavier than the famous tyrannosaurus rex or that its cousin the Allosaurus, the Giganotosaurus will therefore be the big villain of this third and final part. An impressive dinosaur whose most complete specimen found measured between 12 to 13 meters in total length for a skull ranging from 1.53 to 1.80 meters. With its height of between 3.5 and 4.5 meters and its mass of 6 to 8 tonnes, the Giganotosaurus easily competes with the most famous of the great extinct carnivores: the tyrannosaurus rex. It is moreover this dinosaur which had served as a model for theindominus rex in the movie Jurassic World of 2015.

And as the release of Jurassic World: The World Afterthe magazine Empire allows us to discover a new unpublished image of the film, in which is obviously the Giganotosauruswhich Claire Dearing is sure to call “Giga” in the film. I wanted something that looked like the Joker“, explained Colin Trevorrow during an interview with Empire. “He just wanna watch the world burn.”

An image in which we find the main characters of Jurassic World: The World After hidden behind an overturned vehicle. Everyone tries to escape this particularly dangerous new dinosaur, no doubt released by the firm with sinister intentions investigated by Owen, Claire, Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler. It remains to be seen what will become of the Giganotosaurusresponse on June 8, 2022 in cinemas in France.
